Gu Lang Yu is a small island, next to Xiamen in Fujian province. It was one of the first treaty ports open for trade between China and foreign countries. Traders built villas all over the island and cars are still forbidden on it. This creates a great colonial feeling. Xiamen temperature was 15-20C when Shanghai was 4C, making it in a paradise escape for a weekend. |
